SPEECH ENABLED IVR DAC Systems makes both "touch tone" and "speech enabled" IVR systems. Our speech enabled IVR systems are programmed primarily in VoiceXML. They allow callers to talk (instead of using touch tones). Touch tone is always available for fall back such as in noisy environments such as an airport terminal. VoiceXML is an industry standard language for developing speech enabled IVR systems. Prior to VoiceXML, there was no standard language. Data integration is improved with these systems. They communicate using the same infrastructure as your web site. Essentially, the IVR can read web pages and type like a person. It captures the information displayed on your web page and presents it to the caller (audio). Speech enabled systems can automate a greater number of self service transactions. With touch tone systems, callers are limited to making numeric entries. Speech recognition understands more. Applications that were previously impossible to implement are now possible.
