HISTORY
Founding:
DAC Systems was founded in 1988 to make Interactive Voice Response Systems.
Computer based fax and CTI were yet to be invented. We added CTI when PBX's
were equipped with a CTI interface. We added fax when multichannel fax boards
were invented in the early 1990's.
Hardware:
The DAC Systems SMC2000, SMC3000, and SMC4000 platforms were originally
designed in 1988. The first version was produced until the summer of 1997. Visually,
you can't tell the difference from the first one made in 1988 to the last one of the
series made in 1997. This represents ten years of consistent, stable, and reliable
product. We are currently manufacturing the fourth generation in the SMC series.
DAC Systems has always designed and manufactured it's own hardware platforms.
Software:
Software in the early days ran under UNIX and DOS. Today our systems run either
Windows or Linux / UNIX. Our early products were programmed in C, and proprietary
languages. Today they're written in VoiceXML, Visual Basic, Java, and C.
Organizations Served:
Our products have always been used for commercial purposes. We've never made
entertainment systems, such as the 900 pay per call systems which were popular
in the early 1990's.

DAC Systems has served thousands of customers directly and via its OEM's.
Keeping with the times:
To keep with the times, DAC Systems transitioned to a strategy of making systems for
OEM's in quantity. This occured from the years 2000 to 2002. Non OEM customers
still continue to receive maintenance, support, and enhancements for their systems.
Although DAC Systems no longer seeks new end-customers needing single systems,
we maintain our "long life product" commitment and continue serving existing
end-customers with service and when needed, new systems and new applications.
