PRESS RELEASES For Release: September 14, 1999 For More Information Contact: Mark Nickson (203) 924-7000 Reference: PR90908107 DAC Systems – Complements its customized IVR, CTI, WEB, and FAX Products with a line of "off the shelf - shrink wrapped" applications. Shelton, Connecticut, September 14, 1999 - DAC Systems is pleased to announce a significant increase in the number of "ready to use" applications in its software library. DAC Systems has been making IVR, CTI, WEB, and FAX Systems with customized applications for many years. The new "off the shelf - shrink wrapped" applications were born as a natural addition to DAC Systems customized applications since many industries and organizations have similar needs and requirements. Over the years Human Resources, Public Utilities, Banking, and Sales Automation industries have often requested a common set of applications and systems. These applications are sold by regional and vertical market dealer / distributors as well as directly by the company. Human Resources The DAC Systems - HR Assistant family of standardized applications were first brought to market in 1994. Organizations can run from one to all six applications on their SMC3000 platform. There are six applications in the family: 401K Benefits Administration, Absentee Call-In, Call Director, Benefits Enrollment, Employment Verification, and Job Information Line. The applications have enhanced capabilities such as speech recognition, text to speech, interactive fax, and web integration. For example, one DAC Systems customer, John Hopkins University provides Benefits Enrollment to its employees via IVR and Web. Navistar, a maker of 18 wheel tractor trailer trucks, has gained substantial benefits by using Absentee Call-In. The Absentee Call-In application has both speech recognition as well as text to speech making it quick and easy for plant employees to notify the shift manager of their absence (either that day, or scheduled up to 2 weeks into the future). Customers such as United Technologies / Hamilton Sunstrand have found the HR Assistant system, in this case Employment Verification, so effective, it has been subsequently deployed by other United Technologies divisions. Banking DAC Systems has been making Bank by Phone systems since 1992. The company is just completing the development of its new banking by phone system which has integration with the Jack Henry core system. The application provides bank customers a comprehensive set of transaction features and is easy to use. Jack Henry is one of the most popular makers of bank core data processing systems. The SMC3000 bank by phone systems deploy Intel Dialogic hardware, run under Windows NT, and integrate with bank core data processing in on-line or batch mode. Public Utilities DAC Systems has just completed the integration of its UtilityServ public utility application to SCT Banner. DAC Systems has provided this category of application since 1991 with integration to Banner being the most recent development. The SMC3000 with UtilityServ provides customer transactions including current balance, last payment, next payment due, electrical outage reporting, payment arrangement enrollment, meter reading data entry, payment agency locator, service call request / status, call director, and other self service features that complement billing and service call center. Sales, Marketing, and Office Automation The newest marketplace for DAC Systems standardized applications is in the Sales, Marketing, and Office Automation area. The company has three ready to use applications which can be used by many industries; 1) The Dialer, an autodialer with message delivery, 2) Telemarketing Assistant, and outbound call power dialer which provides a 20% to 40% productivity improvement, and 3) InfoFast, a fax on demand, audio bulletin board, and voice messaging application with robust features that make it worthwhile to use by any office that provides routine information to callers.
